The body of the Patron of Art Gaius Maecenas Edition 888 is made of fine marble – a tribute to the symbolic material in the Roman Empire.
The cap as well as rings are made of 925 sterling silver and decorated with the first verse of an ode to Maecenas poetized by Horace. The skeletonized cap of Edition 888 bears the phrase “MAECENAS ATAVIS EDITE REGIBUS” – that first verse from Horace’s ode to Maecenas.
The pen is decorated with fine engravings of laurel wreaths and the Roman numerals “MMXI” on the 18 K gold nib.
